Trail Overview
Hoyt Canyon winds up to where Wide Hollow connects, and continues up towards the Hoyt Peak saddle. Expect a dusty trail that continues through aspen and pine trees for the most part. The trail is pretty simple except for 2 small rock gardens that are a little more slow-going. The rocks are not very large, and most cars could get up them. The second one is the harder of the two because it is on a loose and dusty switchback, so traction is a little worse. Although nothing is going to be a problem or require a spotter. There are some ruts and bumps towards the top where it turns into more of a shelf road. The trail ends at the base of Hoyt Peak and the small hill next to it. Great views on the upper section of the trail, too.
