This is a shortcut to the Sego Canyon/Book Cliffs Trail. Whether you are returning from the Book Cliffs or heading up and want to trim a little off the driving, this is a good shortcut that's neat despite it's short distance. You can see the multiple layers and chunks of coal in the rock face.

Shortcut is significantly more challenging than the main trail which is really flat, fun and easy - steep rocky sections cliff-side with nowhere to turn around that would be alarming for newcomers (me) to overlanding who are probably only choosing trails rated less than 3( though this is still definitely doable, and worthy of trying, as it may be the perfect opportunity for a newcomer to push their limits). This low rating is probably reflective of a more experienced driver / someone with a modified car.
