Trail Overview
Brian's Trail is a 60-inch trail in White Wash that is a technical challenge for both dirt bikes and UTVs. The north end starts in a sandy wash that departs from the open riding area, kind of like in a slot canyon next to a big sandstone wall. There can be water here at certain times of the year or after a storm. There are several times when the wash splits into several canyons, but there are frequent trail signs indicating which way to go to stay on the trail. The wash is pretty fun as you can blast the berms as you ride through this really scenic canyon, but look out for oncoming traffic around the blind corners. The wash leads you to a long sustained rocky climb full of ledges that is the main feature of this trail. It's a half-mile-long climb that gains several hundred feet of elevation through a series of big slab ledges that are a technical difficulty due to steepness and spots that are off-camber with exposure. There is also lots of sand on the rock from the wash below. This feature normally turns away a lot of UTVers, and it would be extremely difficult for an ATV. Dirt bikes can pick an easier line up the ledges, but it's still an intermediate/advanced trail for dirt bikers. It gets you up on top of the sandstone butte and intersects with Mary's Trail. You can cross Mary's Trail on the rock slab here and continue south on another 60-inch segment of Brian's Trail of mixed sand and rock slab that is much easier.
