Trail Overview
Shingle Loop is a short but fun 1.5-mile trail nestled in the heart of Prentice Cooper State Forest. Despite its compact distance, this loop delivers a variety of terrain and challenges that make it well worth the drive. The trail features multiple elevation changes and a series of scenic "S" turns that snake through the dense Tennessee forest, keeping drivers engaged throughout. Expect some mild off-camber areas that may require careful wheel placement depending on recent weather conditions. One of the trail's signature obstacles is a small water crossing situated between two trees--it's shallow but adds just enough spice to the run. Immediately after, you'll encounter a tight, uphill turn that tests traction and line choice. A few pull-off spots along the loop offer access to bluff-top viewing areas.
