Trail Overview
S6 is a two-way dirt trail that connects S2, S4, and S5. This trail works well as a connector route, but it also has enough scenery and small obstacles to make it worth taking your time on. The trail is mostly dirt with several areas where water flows across the trail from nearby springs. These spring-fed water crossings can be around 12 inches deep throughout the year, so drivers should expect some water even during drier seasons. Most of S6 is manageable for a high-clearance 4WD vehicle, but there are a few tighter areas where drivers need to pay attention to vehicle placement. The trail also has some loose rock sections, and a few of those rocks can shift while driving through off-camber areas. These sections are not extreme, but they can cause a loss of traction if the trail is wet or if the vehicle is not lined up well. There are many places to pull over and pass along S6, which makes two-way travel easier than some of the tighter trails in the area. There are also several good spots to stop and explore the ponds and streams nearby. Overall, S6 is a scenic and useful connector trail with light water crossings, loose rock, and mild off-camber areas.

Difficulty
S6 earns a 3/10 rating because it is mostly a dirt trail with manageable obstacles, but it still requires attention in a few areas. The spring-fed water crossings can stay around 12 inches deep year-round, and the loose rock sections may shift under the tires, especially in off-camber areas. The trail is not overly technical, but wet conditions can make the dirt, rocks, and water crossings more challenging. A high-clearance 4WD vehicle is recommended.
