Trail Overview

Log Road 1 is a two-way trail made up mostly of dirt with sections of loose rock throughout. The trail is generally easy to navigate and provides a smooth ride, making it suitable for a wide range of vehicles. There are several scenic spots along the trail where you can safely stop, get out, and explore the surrounding area on foot. These areas offer a good opportunity to take in the landscape and enjoy the quieter parts of the trail system. The main obstacle on this trail is a creek crossing. Water levels can vary significantly depending on recent rainfall. There are two crossing options available: one deeper route and one shallower line. The creek has a solid rock bottom, but during periods of higher water, the current can become strong and should be approached with caution.

Difficulty

The overall trail is easy to traverse, with most sections consisting of mild terrain. The 5/10 rating is primarily due to the creek crossing. Water depth at the crossing can reach up to approximately 48 inches, depending on recent rainfall and depending on which line you take. While the creek has a solid rock bottom, higher water levels can create a stronger current and reduce traction, making the crossing more technical. Drivers must choose between a deeper line and a shallower route, both of which require careful line selection and awareness of conditions.
