Trail Overview

This bumpy little out-and-back ends at a nice camping spot nestled in a juniper grove with a hiking trailhead and plenty of cut juniper to collect along the way for your campfire. There are a few rock gardens nestled in some tall grass. Watch for massive horse apple piles along the way to keep them from getting flung into your vehicle should the window be down. The views of the Steens Mountains are excellent, and there were plenty of wild horses to see along the way. Even a few deer scampered off. There are two bars of Verizon LTE service that fade in and out depending on what ridgeline you are on.
