Trail Overview

FS 4400620 starts at the Clinger Campground. It is a single-vehicle-width trail that winds along a ridge line through a dense pine forest, eventually leading to a small turnaround area. From there, a 200-yard hike is required to reach a viewpoint of Mount Hood--a hidden gem for those willing to make the final push on foot. While most of the drive is shaded and peaceful, the trail is overgrown, especially in the last half mile, with low-hanging branches and tight clearances that will likely cause pin stripping on wider vehicles. There is one brief section of the drive that offers a glimpse of Mount Hood.
