Trail Overview
This Forest Service road runs through Pisgah National Forest as an extension of Roses Creek Road, providing access to Table Rock and the North Carolina Outward Bound School. The trail is primarily composed of gravel and hard-packed surfaces, with the final few hundred feet paved as it transitions into a walking trail leading to Table Rock. Along the route, there are several campsites, ranging from small spots suitable for just a couple of vehicles to larger sites accommodating up to five or six. The trail culminates in a breathtaking overlook of the surrounding forest and mountains. Frequent pull-offs and short hiking opportunities allow visitors to take in diverse views and explore different aspects of the landscape.

Difficulty
This Forest Service road is relatively easy to navigate. Although narrow, frequent pull-offs make passing other vehicles manageable. The most challenging sections consist of small ruts caused by recent rain, which are typically no more than a couple of inches deep and can mostly be avoided. Most vehicles with ground clearance comparable to or greater than a small crossover SUV should have no trouble driving this trail.
