Trail Overview
ATV trail 703 is an unmarked and faint trail through the Santa Fe National Forest that goes through grassy meadows and a ponderosa pine forest. The north end starts as a wider route riding just along the tree line, with wide open views and shallow ruts, but mostly just an easy dirt surface. After about 0.7 miles, it becomes difficult to follow the trail, and you can see where people have gotten confused and gone the wrong way, and it looks like it's been rerouted. It enters a denser part of the forest with some deeper ruts, and it narrows up between the gambel oak trees, only ideal for 50-inch vehicles and dirt bikes as the trees become tighter and overgrown. Expect potential log hazards. The south end connects with ATV trail 704.

Difficulty
The main technical element of this trail is trying to navigate the route, as it is primitive and faint, and easy to get off track. There are a few small downed logs, but no rock obstacles, and it remains gradual the whole time. There are a couple of narrower sections between the trees.
