Trail Overview

Petro Ranch Road is a narrow, one-lane gravel route that follows a gas pipeline, leading to an abandoned ranch outpost and a long-dried-up spring. While the trail is fairly straightforward, it presents a few challenges along the way. Multiple washouts- approximately two feet across and two feet deep- can catch drivers off guard, so caution is advised. Keep an eye out for flagging on the fence line, which serves as a helpful indicator to navigate around the rougher sections and avoid potential vehicle damage. The road offers a unique glimpse into the region's past while delivering a rugged, off-the-beaten-path adventure. High-clearance vehicles are recommended, and taking it slow will ensure a safe and enjoyable ride.
