Trail Overview
This section of the Bitterroot-Rock Creek Divide trail, also known as USFS 313, is ATV and dirt bike-only. South of the Sawmill intersection, FS 313 is non-motorized. It's a well-used trail and consequently pretty rough in places with 3 to 12-inch rocks littering the trail. It is fairly well maintained as far as brush, but you'll likely encounter at least a couple of down trees and some washes. There are a couple more technical sections with steeper terrain and larger rocks. If you want a smooth, beginner ride, this isn't the trail to use. All of the trail is in the trees. It can be done as an out-and-back from either end, or use one of the connector roads to make a nice loop.
