Trail Overview

This trail is the continuation of Andrews Creek Trail. At this point, you will find a closed gate and a sign that shows dirt bikes and four-wheelers are allowed. As you begin, you will find a winding double-track trail that is fairly smooth with a mild amount of small rocks. This trail is mostly flat until the last couple of miles, where you will lose a little bit of elevation. There are a few spots along the way where there are some overgrown bushes that grow quite a way into the trail. Dirt bike handlebars will almost rub on both ends, but not quite yet. Along the way, you will find some good views near Sula, Montana, and the surrounding mountains, as well as the Sula Peak Lookout Tower. There is one spot on this trail where there is a spring, and it is fairly muddy, so watch out for that if on two wheels. As you progress down the trail, you will find it seems like it becomes less and less of a trail. This trail seems fairly abandoned the deeper you get into it, as the double tracks slowly disappear and the grass overcomes the area. You can still ride down the "trail" as it is still a flat and fairly smooth area, but you are riding through quite a bit of grass. In the last mile or so, you will find downed trees that nobody has cut off of the trail for a while, and this is a good point to turn around and head back, as the trail dead ends anyway near Warm Springs Ridge Trail, near the switchbacks. This is a good trail to avoid, or at least the second half of the trail, in the later months of summer, as all of the grass is tall, will dry out, and become a great way to start a fire with a hot exhaust. (Trail open December 2nd - October 14th)

Difficulty

There is nothing too difficult about this trail. It's a double-track gravel/dirt trail only open to vehicles 50 inches and less. But as you go further in, it eventually becomes overgrown with grass. If you are on two wheels, there are some loose rocks and a small mud hole that is hidden by grass.
