Trail Overview

This trail follows a wide, well-maintained gravel surface. Despite its overall good condition, the road is heavily corrugated in places due to frequent use by local traffic. The trail winds through dense forest and is lined with numerous residences, many of which reflect Finnish heritage in their architecture, typically painted dark blue with white trim. The route is generally straight, with two distinct bends on the trail. While several side trails branch off from the main road, these are private and not open to public access. At the end of the trail, visitors will find the historic Toimi School House, a restored building that served the local Finnish community between 1913 and 1942. Public restrooms and drinking water are available at this location. There is a large Finnish community in the area and a historic cemetery along this trail. The trail itself does not provide any dispersed or formal camping opportunities, and overnight stays are not supported along the route.
