Trail Overview

This trail takes you on a scenic loop that leads up to Pucker Point before descending along the ridge near Jim's Rock. The route provides a fun and mildly challenging ride, with a few off-camber turns that require some attention to line choice, especially in wet conditions. There are several gradual hill climbs along the way, but none are overly steep or technical, making this a great option for drivers with moderate experience or stock 4WD vehicles. Mud puddles can be found throughout the trail, especially after recent rain, adding a bit of variety without creating serious obstacles. Difficulty

This is a low to moderate difficulty trail that offers a little bit of everything without pushing your limits. Most of the route is only one vehicle wide, so passing is not an option--once you're on it, be prepared to commit to the full run. The trail features some mild hill climbs and off-camber turns that require attention, but nothing overly technical. Shallow puddles may appear after rainfall, adding light variety to the drive. History

The Iron Range OHV Recreation Area was built on reclaimed mining land, once part of the rich Mesabi Iron Range that fueled U.S. steel production for over a century. Today, this 1,200+ acre site blends industrial history with outdoor adventure, offering a rare chance to ride through the remnants of Minnesota's mining legacy.
