Trail Overview
FS 141 is a long, minimum-maintenance style forest road that cuts through a portion of the Superior National Forest. Expect lots of shallow water crossings, mud holes, and rocks along the way. Be advised that as of May 2026, the culvert at Assinika Creek is heavily washed out due to flooding. What remains is a 3-4 foot tall angled shelf of loose dirt and rocks, making it tricky to cross safely. The timeline for repairs has not been published as of June 2026.

Difficulty
Under normal circumstances, this trail is a 3 due to the shallow water crossings and rough nature of the trail. Until the culvert is fixed, though, this trail is a 5-6 due to the sketchy nature of getting past what remains.
