Trail Overview
Chatfield Southeast is a 5-mile bidirectional trail located in the southwest section of the Chatfield ATV trail complex. The trail can be accessed from the parking lot just off Minnesota Hwy 30/74. There are several other access points along the trail, but they do not have any available parking. Both Class 1 (50-inch or less) and Class 2 (50-65-inch) ATVs are allowed on the Chatfield ATV trails. The trail consists mostly of dirt dual track with embedded rocks. There are several short side loops that run through or around the tree groves. Riders should follow any signage. The trail features several enjoyable ascents and descents, which are designated as easy to moderate for riders. The forest grove resides along the side of a slope that rises roughly 50 to 60 feet above the farm field, giving riders a challenge to climb or descend a narrow rocky trail. The trail is normally open from 1 May to 31 October. OHV riding in Minnesota requires either a vehicle registered with the state or the purchase of a non-resident OHV state trail pass. The Chatfield ATV trail network has a total of 19 miles and was developed by a group of neighbors with a passion for ATVs. The trail is entirely on private land and leads riders through backdrops of field, forest, pasture, and woods. Please respect the private landowners and stay on the marked trails. This trail is provided by the City of Chatfield and maintained by the Chatfield ATV Trails Club. Nearest services are located in Chatfield.
