Trail Overview
This long trail offers both scenic views and a sense of history, combining stretches that are single-vehicle wide with sections that can accommodate two vehicles. It winds through forested terrain, following a generally level and straight course. Along the way, it passes through the former settlement of Bankton, which was evacuated in 1935, and the location of the old town hall can still be identified. The route also includes two cemeteries that add to its historical character. Toward the end of the trail, water may be present on the surface, so drivers should proceed with care. Residents and logging vehicles occasionally use the trail, and a wooden bridge carries it across a river where geese are often seen. Popular with side-by-sides and ATVs, the trail offers no formal campsites and lacks amenities such as trash disposal or a water supply, and cell service may be limited.
