Trail Overview
Heading south from the lake, the trail becomes a wide gravel road that is generally well-maintained. It passes several residences and intersects with many smaller trails as it continues toward Grand Marais and Lake Superior. Drivers should be cautious, as this route is frequently used by locals who may travel at higher speeds. The northern portion of the trail features some significant ascents and descents, adding to the driving challenge. Arrowhead Trail terminates at a small parking area that provides public water access but no additional facilities. A bridge near the end of the trail connects two sections of the lake, and beyond it, a narrow stretch of land includes several small trails that lead to private residences. Near the lake access, there is a small campsite with basic amenities. Overall, while the trail offers access to recreational areas, it lacks trash disposal, potable water, and consistent cell service.
