Trail Overview
Abandoned Bog Trail is aptly named, as the trail has become overgrown and was cut off by a private land purchase. It may someday be rerouted, but for now, it remains an out-and-back off Grouse Forest Road. One thing to note is that there isn't really a clearly signed transition between where Grouse Forest Road ends and where this trail begins, but you'll know by how quickly it becomes overgrown. It is legally accessible by class 1 ATV and dirt bikes; however, most dirt bike riders will wonder why they ever decided to come down this trail. It's a lot of bushwhacking when all you have in front of you is a fender and handlebars. ATV riders will love this trail, though, because there are several big mud holes and water bogs all along the way. Expect plenty of small brush to be lying across the trail.

Difficulty
Most of the trail would rate about a 2 in difficulty, but the deeper water crossings and bushwhacking make it a little sketchier than most, but still manageable. The last bog hole in particular is the deepest and can be about 16" deep if not more, depending on rainfall, with the edges being shallower.
