Trail Overview
This trail runs parallel to both Guardrail Gulley and Throttle Therapy. It features a narrow paths that requires drivers to stay focused, as there's limited room for error in certain stretches. Several mud holes can be found along the trail; while they appear to have a solid bottom, they can still catch you off guard after heavy rain. There are a few hill climbs as well, but none are overly steep or technical, most four-wheel-drive vehicles should be able to handle them with ease. Due to the tight passage and light brush throughout the trail, pinstriping is possible, especially for wider rigs. This is a solid intermediate trail that blends scenic travel with a bit of caution and technique.

Difficulty
This trail offers a moderate challenge and is best suited for drivers comfortable navigating tight, single-vehicle-width paths. While there are no shelf roads or steep drop-offs, the limited width means you'll need to stay alert and pick your lines carefully, especially when passing through areas with trees or overgrowth. Mud holes appear along the way but usually have a solid base, making them more fun than risky under normal conditions. A few short hill climbs are scattered throughout the trail, but they're gradual enough for most four-wheel-drive vehicles to handle with ease. Expect some pinstriping due to overgrowth of the surrounding trees and bushes.
History
The Iron Range OHV Recreation Area was built on reclaimed mining land, once part of the rich Mesabi Iron Range that fueled U.S. steel production for over a century. Today, this 1,200+ acre site blends industrial history with outdoor adventure, offering a rare chance to ride through the remnants of Minnesota's mining legacy.
