Trail Overview
This trail is a long and scenic route that alternates between single-vehicle and two-vehicle widths in different sections. The surface is primarily well-maintained gravel, though some stretches can be bumpy. Access begins from the paved Scenic Highway, and the trail eventually loops back to reconnect with the same highway before crossing it and continuing for an additional 5.9 miles. Fallen trees may occasionally be found along the way, so travelers should be prepared for possible obstacles. The route winds steadily through forested terrain and has a variety of side trails branching off. Most of these secondary paths are narrow and overgrown, making them better suited to side-by-sides and ATVs rather than larger vehicles. Some of these smaller trails may also offer opportunities for dispersed camping, though nothing is formally established. Cell phone service is limited, so planning ahead is advisable before setting out.
