Trail Overview

Whitefish Lake Superior offers a trail accessible to various vehicle types and sizes, from large 4x4s to dirt bikes. The trail primarily consists of dirt and is surrounded by dense forests. It traverses swamplands and features a waterhole over a foot deep, with a solid bottom for the most part. While four-wheel drive is not mandatory, it's highly recommended for this trail. At the northern end of the trail, you'll find a breathtaking spot overlooking Lake Superior, complete with beach access.

Area has been logged recently. Trail is a little rough and narrow. It’s tight for full sized rigs but doable. There are no less than 10 water crossings. Some deeper than 1 ft. I was in 4 high and didn’t have much trouble. One spot was a little soft and made me nervous but other than that it was ok. Dark tannin stained water so you can’t see what your driving into. Seems pretty popular with the SxS crowd. Thankfully we had a saw with us bc there was a leaning tree that we couldn’t have made it under. Other than the water crossings nothing too technical.
