Trail Overview

Swami is a fun trail in the South Hills Trail System with several rock obstacles and scenic views. The south entrance of the trail starts on Indian Spring Road and goes out to a rocky hillside rim full of slab rock ledges. It's a narrow trail along the rim with a few rock obstacles. The most difficult obstacle is right after you round a corner and there is a medium-sized rock step-up of moderate difficulty. There are lots of boulders lining the trail, sometimes making rock pinches. The trail is short, but fun and technical and close to the staging area. There is more flat slab rock in the trail as you continue on through the sagebrush. Part two of Swami, which is easier, starts after the rock obstacles end and before the trail crosses a powerline road.
