Trail Overview
This is an easy upper elevation bypass of FS 381 that passes Moose Creek Reservoir. This route is a winding full-width gravel road that is gated and open seasonally. This route avoids the vehicles and pedestrians along the banks of the reservoir while also providing several full-width pull-outs along the road, which could accommodate vehicle camping. Most of the spots aren't very level, so leveling blocks would be recommended. This route, being slightly higher in elevation, is exposed to the wind, and blowdowns are common in this area. If you are passing through after a storm, be sure to bring a chainsaw.
