Trail Overview

This out-and-back trail is typical of those found in the Chattahoochee National Forest, following a mostly gravel road with some dirt and muddy sections. While generally maintained, drivers should expect occasional ruts and minor washouts. It's a single-lane route with multiple pull-off areas for passing, making it accessible for most high-clearance vehicles. At both the trailhead and the midway point, there are creek crossings with concrete paver bases that usually provide solid traction under normal conditions. However, after heavy rainfall, water levels may rise, so caution is advised. The trail ends in a wide turnaround area that includes a small mud play zone and a good dispersed camping spot located just beyond it. Also at the end is a moderate rock and dirt climb--an optional challenge that may require recovery gear and driver experience, depending on trail conditions. Cell service in the area is minimal to nonexistent. Make sure to come fully prepared with emergency supplies, navigation tools, and recovery equipment if you plan to explore the deeper parts of the trail or attempt the final climb.

Difficulty

This is an easy, single-lane gravel road with minor washouts that may become muddy during wet conditions.
