Trail Overview
The Rainbow Falls riding area is on the north side of Hwy 67, about 17 miles southwest of Deckers, CO, or 17 miles north of Woodland Park, CO, with easy access to the parking lot just off the highway. The parking lot is large and has a map of the area and toilets. Arrive early on the weekends as this is a popular area for 4x4 clubs, and it gets busy. Keep a sharp eye out for other riders and vehicles. This trail is connected to the Rainbow Falls area but is restricted to 50" and under, whereas the rest of Rainbow Falls is multi-use trails. Due to the width restrictions, this provides an area less busy than the rest of Rainbow Falls. This trail is excellent for beginners as it is flat and wide open with few obstacles. There was a fire in this area a few years ago, which allows for some nice views of the local area, including Pikes Peak. There are plenty of places to stop for lunch, pictures, and wildlife viewing: deer, wild turkeys, bald eagles, etc. This trail is open year-round, allowing for many different styles of riding- dry and dusty in the summer, snow-covered trails in the winter, and wet and muddy in the spring.
