Trail Overview

The small unmarked single track connecting Teton Ridge and the Kings Ditch is a very narrow single track that drops 500 feet in a mile in order to get off the adobe hills and down into the flat valleys below. This is a good way to get off the adobe hills quick if need be, or to drop down to the valley for a change of pace. This riding area is made up of many adobe ridge line trails, and this one is similar to many of the most popular ones near the Elephant Skin Staging Area. It goes along a very narrow ridge line on top of tall and steep adobe clay hills. This trail has some of the most narrow sections in the area, and a very steep final descent off the adobe hill to meet up with the Kings Ditch trail. After dropping off of the hills, the trail continues in the flats for a bit and runs between the sage brush. Watch out for very big vertical dips running perpendicular to the trail caused from rain erosion. From here you can get on the Kings Ditch Trail which is an easy way back to the staging area. This trail is entirely unmarked, so it's best to use your GPS. This riding area is best accessed in spring and fall and can be very popular on weekends.

Access Description

The Flat Top Peach Valley Recreation Area is a 9,700 acre trail system made up of adobe hills and rocky desert mesas with almost 100 miles of trail, and a couple open riding areas. The main staging areas are Flat Top, Peach Valley, and Elephant Skin Road, but all trails can be accessed from all staging areas. This is a highly trafficked area, especially on weekends, and has lots of blind corners around the adobe hills. It's best to visit in spring and fall to avoid the summer heat and winter snow. There is several days worth of riding here, and it's easy to make a loop of your desired length since all the trails are relatively short and connect easily.
