Gravel road with some parts only 1 vehicle wide. Decent views, but fire damage has definitely taken its toll.

This trail was so annoying!! It’s so hard to pick up any speed on this 24-mile long trail because it has tiny rocks everywhere that shouldn’t be a problem, but instead it rocks your vehicle back and forth the whole way. Not to even mention the washboards. I would have enjoyed this more if it either wasn’t so long, or I could actually go faster than 5-10mph. The good thing about this trail is how many options you get for campsites. There’s about a million campsites on the start and end of this trail and about half a million in the middle. With the whole trail having amazing campsites and views, it’s just a choice on whether or not you have the patience to drive on this bumpy trail for 2 hours. Overall, worth it for camping, not worth it for traveling through.
