Trail Overview
Prospect Gulch is by far the best of the four gulches in the valley. It has 3 spurs and each is unique. There is a building on the right side of the main road going up containing an electric motor and a compressor. Take time to explore and you can spend the biggest part of a day. Spur 1 ends at an open mine that you can explore if you are into that sort of thing. There is plenty of room to turn around.Spur 2 has an old building with a vertical mine shaft underneath it.Spur 3 climbs to the top of the ridge and offers a great view of Corkscrew Pass. Many people that come to the area stick to the main trails and miss the attractions of these lesser-used ones.
