Trail Overview

Picturesque mountain ride to Grizzly Lake with great fishing. Limited camping near the lake, so plan ahead. This is a challenging trail for ATVs and short wheel-based vehicles, especially at the obstacle near the beginning, which may draw spectators.

Difficulty

Difficult. The toughest part of this trail is at the beginning where you must go over a very difficult rock obstacle immediately after a stream crossing. Do not attempt to make new routes around this spot. After the obstacle, a steep, loose-rock shelf road continues to be difficult a short distance. After that, the trail is mostly moderate with a few marginally difficult spots.

Open and clear. Gate keeper significantly more dug out than previous years. Saw a bunch of sissy rock stacking to get up instead of just wheeling the obstacle. Unfortunately this trail is ❌CLOSED TO SIDE BY SIDES❌

The trail is in its normal condition. The gatekeeper is still the reason for the high trail rating. The rest of the trail is clear and free of debris all the way to the lake. No snow, very little moisture, or mud.

No snow on the trailer all the way to the lake. The lake is completely open, no ice. Some water running down the trail in spots and a few water holes.
