Trail Overview

This road is generally easy and accessible by almost any vehicle except perhaps the lowest of riders. The dirt road is quite wide but narrows slightly as you proceed further along. The road surface is typical of the area--hardpack sandy dirt that could get soft and muddy with rain or snow. The trail is covered with a loose layer of sand and gravel. Mostly smooth, the sandy and gravelly road presents few challenges, although there are some sections with potholes and washboard. The washboard is spotty and mostly found along the edges or around corners. In some places, there is a large rock in the middle of the road, which is avoided. Additionally, there are a few sections with small, embedded rocks. A short section or two of loose sand could cause some sliding for someone in a 2WD crawling along, or a new ADV moto rider who is unprepared and not expecting it. Just over 5 miles in, the road looks like it should go straight, but takes a sharp turn to the right. The road deadends at Fourmile Trailhead, the starting point for Tumble Creek Trail.

Difficulty

A section or two of loose sand could catch out the unexpected driver. Very short baby head sections and washboard might slow you down. Watch out for the sporadic pothole or rock in the middle of the road. This road could get muddy with a lot of rain or immediately after melting snow.
