Trail Overview
This is a scenic route that offers broad, open views of the Eastern Sierra and the Glass Mountains. Beginning just off Benton Crossing Road, this 4.5-mile out-and-back trail travels across high-desert terrain lined with low sagebrush and scattered wildflowers in the spring. The route gradually descends toward the lake, where the surrounding landscape opens up dramatically, revealing sweeping 360-degree views and a peaceful shoreline outlook. This is a relaxed, photogenic drive that rewards you with impressive mountain and lake scenery in every direction. You can explore the beach below or drive up to an overlook that has a loop turn around. Gravel road that transitions to soft sand closer to the lake. Surface conditions can become loose or dusty depending on recent weather and use.
