Trail Overview
Jack Ranch FS24S05 departs from Capinero and climbs 366 feet in just over 3 miles along a shelf road tracing the White River through Dark Canyon. The route is enclosed by very thick pine trees within Sequoia National Forest throughout. Small waterfalls appear along the trail, and the White River Campground sits along the route making this a practical access trail for campers in the area. The trail ends at a gate beyond which the land is private. A turnaround area is available just after the gate.

Difficulty
Small creek crossings and runoff ruts up to 6 inches deep are the primary technical challenges, with wet spots appearing in sections depending on season and recent rainfall. The shelf road character with the White River below warrants steady attention throughout. The road closes in winter and conditions should be verified before visiting in shoulder seasons.
