Conditions can shift fast after rain, turning some stretches muddy or even washed out, so weather awareness is key. Dove Springs Canyon Road stays open year-round, but summer heat can be brutal, and there's little to no shade along the way. Legal OHV use is allowed on marked routes, with the adjacent open riding area giving more freedom to non-street-legal vehicles.
