Trail Overview
This 3-mile trail climbs about 250 feet and drops 111 feet, making for a gradual but scenic ride. The route begins on pavement before quickly turning to hard-packed dirt with some washboards. Along the way, you're treated to excellent views of Casa Diablo Mountain with the White Mountains rising behind. The trail winds through a small valley lined with thick brush, scattered juniper pines, and interesting piles of rocks. It is just over one vehicle wide, with pull-outs available for passing. Several spur trails branch off, offering opportunities to explore or find a dispersed campsite. From the south entrance, the road begins to narrow after about a mile. At mile 1.7, you'll encounter some off-camber stretches and whoops, while later sections include small rock gardens and shelves. Most are easily manageable, though low-clearance vehicles may struggle.
