Trail Overview

This trail takes you to Eureka Peak, which is a mountain top viewpoint allowing you to have a 360-degree view of the area from a high elevation. There are hiking trails throughout this area and one that will take you to the very top of Eureka Peak with just a few hundred feed of walking. There may be Deer, Bighorn Sheep, and other wildlife along the top of this trail as featured in one of the photos.

SIMPLE DIRT ROAD WITH THE TYPICAL WASH OUTS ASSOCIATED WITH RAINFALL IN THIS AREA. ONE STRETCH HAS SOME SMALL JAGGED ROCKS BUT NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT.

Great trail, made it to the peak just before 5:30 AM and got to see an incredible sunrise in the way back down. No big obstacles or hills, very fun beginner trail, would recommend to even experienced off roaders for the view and experience!

Trail is very easy and only took 1 hour. This trail can be done with 2wd. Theres a few washboard sections and some small rain ruts. Mostly dirt and sand trail but some small rocks on the trail. Nice view at the top with some parking.

Access Description

The trailhead is just south a mile or so from LA Contenta School and on La Contenta Road.
