This route starts off as a wide very sandy road that goes by a very popular mountain bike area, so watch out for bikers throughout the journey. The trail takes you up a canyon with hills on both sides, offering beautiful views of the mountains as you're approaching and giving you a preview of what terrain lies ahead. If you're headed up to the top, this is an important checkpoint to recheck the weather conditions before continuing.

This trail earns a low difficulty rating despite challenging surface conditions. The route features washboards and some ruts and holes, so use caution with speed. 4x4 is highly recommended due to deep sand sections and extensive washboards that create a very rough ride. There are a few rocks scattered within the sandy trail that add to the surface obstacles.
