Trail Overview

This is a short and fast forest service access road that is the final stretch to the popular Fernandez Pass / Walton trailhead. This same trailhead also serves as an access point along the longer California Riding and Hiking Trail. The road is a smooth, wide gravel/dirt track designed for easy transit. This entire route is in the 2020 Creek Fire burn scar (visible in photos)--the views are vast, but the reminders of wildfire are evident. Especially in the burnt-out car still remaining at the trailhead five years later.
