Trail Overview
This 1.4-mile, relatively flat trail runs from Gas Line 281 to Red Cloud Mine Road. The surface is hard-packed sand with some rocks. The trail goes in and out of some washes with off-camber sections throughout. You'll enjoy nice views of the surrounding Orocopia Mountains as well as the Joshua Tree National Park mountains to the north. The route is lined with lots of vegetation, including desert ironwood and cheese bushes, desert flowers, and the occasional ocotillo bush. There are various open flat areas suitable for dispersed camping. This trail serves as a nice alternative to the Gas Line Road that runs parallel to it.

Difficulty
This is an easy trail overall. The wash crossings require high clearance and are highly recommended, and the off-camber sections demand attention, but nothing is overly technical. The short distance makes it a quick and straightforward connector route.
