Trail Overview
This trail starts north of Highway 2 and features hard packed sand surface throughout. The route winds its way through a desert of ocotillo, desert brush, and other flora, creating a vegetated corridor. You'll encounter a couple of short, steep drop downhills and uphill sections that require momentum and careful control. There are some whoops scattered along the way and some banked turns that add fun, flowing character. You'll also find some ruts to navigate. The Coyote Mountains and the Painted Gorge area serve as the backdrop to this beautiful trail, providing stunning scenery. There are lots of mega power windmills in the area towering overhead. You'll be happy to have a decent suspension as the combined features will test it throughout.

Difficulty
The couple of short, steep drop downhills and uphill sections are the main technical challenges requiring momentum and skilled throttle control on both descent and climb. The some whoops and ruts add to the difficulty. The banked turns are fun features that reward speed and momentum. The hard-packed sand provides good traction, but the various obstacles combined create a challenging ride. High clearance and four wheel drive are recommended. A good suspension is particularly beneficial on this trail.
