Trail Overview

This dirt bike trail starts out wide on the north end, looking more like a road, but then narrows up in the shrubs, going over a long section lined with cinderblocks to prevent erosion, and past some short wood stakes marking a pinch point to prevent wider vehicles. The trail is very gradual the whole time, dipping in and out of little ravines and winding between the trees in a scenic forest of pines and fir trees. The trail stays pretty wide the whole time, looking more like an ATV trail. It goes along a shelf cut into the edge of the hillside. The trail is pretty smooth on the north end, with a bit more loose rock as you go farther south. On the south end it turns into a forest service road.

Access Description

This trail system is easily accessible from the Hull Creek Campground, a paid forest service campground off of FS Road 3N01, south of Long Barn, California. There are lots of other dispersed campsites throughout the forest roads that can be used for staging, but know that OHVs are not allowed on the paved FS 3N01. The trails are open from April 15 to December 15, and it gets really hot and dusty here in the summer, so the best time to visit is spring and fall.
