Trail Overview
Rattleback Trail is a rough-and-ready segment that runs parallel to Highway 95, offering a slow, technical ride through well-worn desert terrain. Originally a connector, the southern mile is now signed as closed, requiring a northern bypass to reach the endpoint near the new RV Oasis community. This trail is heavily used by SxS traffic and shows it--expect consistent washboards, uneven bouncy whoops, and a surface of hard-packed dirt mixed with embedded rocks. It winds up and down short hills, some with steep pitches that may require momentum and careful throttle work. Be cautious and aware of others on the other side of the mountain. The ride is rough and slow, but you'll be rewarded with occasional mountain views and a raw, off-grid feel off the main highway.
