Trail Overview
This is an almost 3-mile-long primitive trail through BLM land north of Palomas, Arizona. It goes through a wash that is sandy and pebbly. There are lots of tracks to follow for most of the route, but there are also many unmarked splits in the wash where the trail makes a turn or an exit into a different wash, which can make the navigation confusing. Additionally, there are several washes with tracks all paralleling each other, and they look very similar. It rides past big palo verde trees. The wash is straight for much of the beginning, but becomes narrower and curvier later on. Expect some bigger loose rocks, ruts, and uneven ground between the layers of the wash, with some overgrown bushes and cactus. It's a pretty primitive route overall, and the middle section feels fainter, but as it keeps going north, it connects up to a more defined wash later on with more tracks that run along the dirt bluffs. On the north end, it meets up with a dirt road.
