Trail Overview

Under Pressure is a delightful side shoot trail that follows a section of the gas pipeline running through the area. This path presents a generally easy and enjoyable experience, punctuated by gentle humps to crest as a result of the pipeline activities. As you navigate this trail, you'll encounter short, deep washouts that can catch you off guard, especially if you're moving quickly. Be vigilant as you traverse several sandy washes that could be flowing during the monsoon season. While there are a few rutted hill climbs, they remain relatively manageable, allowing for a fun ride without overly taxing your vehicle. Along the way, you'll be surrounded by impressive saguaro cacti, standing tall amidst a landscape dotted with cholla cacti. Wildlife is likely present as well, adding to the charm of your journey. Those looking to make the most of their time outdoors may come across a nice dispersed campsite that can accommodate a collection of rigs, campers, or even RVs.Important Note: Keep in mind that cellular service is minimal along the trail, often providing only one bar of Verizon LTE, which may not be reliable. Ensure you prepare adequately for your adventure by downloading your offline maps beforehand, packing enough water and supplies, and remember to obtain your Arizona State Land Trust permit for legal access to the area.
