Trail Overview
The east end is accessed through the 31097 wash, starting at a dead end in the wash at a rocky cliff where you can't go any farther east. The wash is gravelly with small loose rocks, and big boulders here and there that you can ride around. The wash chokes down early on, with some chunky rock surfaces you have to ride over, and 1-foot tall waterfall ledges that you can ramp up. A map is helpful for navigating all the splits in the wash. Additionally, there's a left turn out of the wash that is unmarked that will be easy to miss. It climbs up into the rugged desert hills and continues as a singletrack on loose rutted hills, with more rock ledges. You'll experience rutted hill climbs and descents that are troughed out, V-bottom ravine crossings, and steep climbs out of the ravines. It goes into a tight rocky wash a couple of times. It continues as technical singletrack over the rugged mountains, with long steep hill climbs that are extremely loose and rutted, with chunky rock layers creating small ledges and drop-offs. At one point there's a trough half as deep as the bike that will grab your pegs that you have to walk your bike through. You get some awesome views near the south end from the top of the ridgeline, but the descent down from the ridge is extremely steep and rutted with some rock pinches in the troughs. Since this trail is partially on Arizona State Trust Land, it requires a recreation permit that you can obtain online.

Difficulty
This is a more difficult intermediate trail due to steep and loose climbs and moderate rock ledges. This trail will also require some route finding and is more difficult to follow as it is constantly going between the washes and the hills, with lots of unmarked intersections.
