Trail Overview
Ivan East is a short loop that dances through the short, steep hills of the Prescott National Forest. Mainly a dirt track, the main obstacle on this trail is a long, steep, off-camber shelf road made of loose rock. The degree of difficulty of this trail might be greater due to the snow coverage on the hill. Once over the hill, the decline (also snow-covered) is crisscrossed with erosion and water damage. Once down in the valley, you might encounter cattle in the trail, as there is a corral and tank nearby, so caution is urged. Enjoy the meander through the valley on the way out, and you might see antelope or elk as you bob and weave in and out of the juniper trees. There is no cell coverage on this trail, so offline maps are a must, as this area of the forest is dotted with trails that interconnect for the ranchers utilizing the area for grazing.

Difficulty
This road is not maintained, and the steep, loose up/downhill is enough to make it not an easy cake-walk, depending on conditions. Snow increases the difficulty.
