Trail Overview
The Hilltop to Blocked Canyon trail is a tight and technical route that takes you into the heart of a rugged desert canyon. The trail starts at a campsite on top of a hill, with the trail being narrow and it only gets tighter, with ledges and sandy sections adding to the challenge. Expect paint damage from the overhanging foliage. The close canyon walls and overhanging brush as the path snakes through the rocky terrain make this trail more of an exploration and not a speed run. The canyon narrows significantly toward the end, creating a dramatic and picturesque backdrop, but the trail ultimately stops short when it's blocked off by large boulders in the trail. Vehicles with larger tires could possibly make it through (37" or larger) but full-size vehicles will not fit by my estimation. There are "Z" type turns where longer wheelbases will have trouble as well. Overall, this trail was a fun offering of rugged and scenic adventure.

Difficulty
This is an unmaintained trail of varying terrain. Toward the Southern end, in the canyon is where you'll find the most challenges. The canyon narrows with a couple of "Z" type turns where longer wheelbases will struggle. Also, the canyon narrows significantly at these points where a full-size WILL NOT FIT. There is one bypass, (see pictures with the Tacoma for scale) but a couple hundred meters down canyon (where the mapped trail ends) you'll encounter a large boulder-type section where higher clearance and larger tires are necessary. There is no cell service in the area, so offline maps are essential.
