Trail Overview
Forest Service Road 9366F is just under 2 miles long and begins right off Highway 260. The trail starts with a stretch of deep ruts that can become a muddy mess after any precipitation, extending across the width of the trail for roughly the first hundred yards. After this section, the trail turns south and remains somewhat rutted before opening up into a rolling meadow. From here, the surface smooths out into a mostly dirt track, making for an easier drive. As you continue, the trail gradually descends and becomes narrower. Near the end, conditions grow rockier, and vegetation begins to encroach on the trail, tightening the corridor. The trail ends at a spectacular viewpoint overlooking the Fossil Springs Wilderness. Use caution at the endpoint, as space to turn around is limited, especially for full-sized vehicles.
