Trail Overview
This trail makes a semi-loop around Round Mountain in the Coconino National Forest. The semi-loop consists of two forest service roads, which are 9248G and 9245A. Forest Road 9248G starts in the trail's northern section and contains many uneven erosion ruts from precipitation run-off. A few of these ruts are pretty deep and cannot be avoided if traveling in a larger 4x4 rig. These ruts are located south of Round Mountain. Portions of this northern section of the trail look like a muddy mess after descending rain. As the trail turns to the West, the trail turns into Forest Road 9245A. The rest of this trail will traverse to the West and be a consistently rocky surface. There will be loose rocks and rock gardens all over the trail until you come to the junction with Rarick Canyon Climb.
